Coming off Catholic Schools Week, being in Black History Month, and awaiting March as Women's History Month, the seventh grade will research and create a drama (to be enacted for other grades) about female Catholic African Americans Dominique Dawes and Simone Biles (Group #1); Sr. Thea Bowman (Group #2), and Toni Morrison (Group #3). The remaining groups will research Philadelphia-based African Americans Octavius Catto (19th century), Alain Locke ( Dean of the 1930's Harlem Renaissance), and Lee Daniels (21st century)
Group #1: SS, SF, DaW, GS
Group #2: MR, AB, MS, DB
Group #3: LL, KW, JL
Group #4: WC, DrW, PJ (Catto)
Group #5: AT, BB, TE (Locke)
Group #6: JM, RE, FA (Daniels)
Students will research these individuals in class beginning on 2/6. Plays are to be submitted on (or before) 2/21, by which time lines are to be memorized.
