Students will present their assigned grammar terms from Voyages' Scope And Sequence of 187 topics by giving concrete and clear examples of each. Each of these 187 terms have been allotted to individual students within their Pink, Orange, and Yellow Committees. The essays written within each group will be followed by grammar-related questions on the "S&S" points contained in their essay ( as in previous "Chapter Challenge" assignments on parts of speech.
4/20: TJ, ED, and AM will present PREPOSITIONS and CONJUNCTIONS subcategories.
The above three students will write an essay on CORA that contains all CONJUNCTIONS categories.
4/26: MC, LH, and JP will present Scope and Sequence points #127-146; these three students will compose an essay review on Love's Labours Lost.
4/27: MC, LH, JP, CR, WA, MB, and BB will clarify #147-166. CR will write an essay on the Eighth grade's Stations of the Cross drama in church that uses "S&S" #96-100 on VERBS, #69-71 on ADVERBS, and two examples of Adjective CLAUSES.
5/2: MB, BB, and WA will convey Scope And Sequence #167-187. This committee will author an essay on the Rosary Project that contains all PUNCTUATION and CAPITALIZATION categories from earlier "Chapter Challenge".
5/5: RF, DD, and KM will conduct a lesson on their assigned "Scope And Sequence" categories
5/8: DD, AK, RF, GC, KM, and LG will construct two essays on LIGHT properties that feature all properties of PRONOUNS alluded to in "S&S" #22-42. Essays will concern
1) Mirrors and Lenses (III.3) and
2) Light Waves and Sight (III.4) from science text
5/9: GC, AL, LG, EA, AK, and BC will embed all categories of ADJECTIVES found in "S&S" #43-64 in an essay modeling Salutatorian and/or Valedictorian Addresses written from the POV of a 1917 graduate.
5/12: AlM and LO'C will write a 500-word essay on our trip to Washington,D.C. (due 5/17) that incorporates "S&S" #85-94 and #106-115, relating to VERBS
