Dear Eighth Grade Parents:
I hope all of you are well as we advance into the New Year. Mrs. Schmidt and I met to flesh out how the yearbook and fundraising activities would be conducted this year. I had given Mrs. Schmidt an itemized list of expenses for all eighth grade activities, such as yearbook, caps and gowns, our trip to Washington, D.C., and other expenses, which totalled $4500. We intend to raise approximately $2500 of this figure through fundraisers. The remaining balance of $2000 will be divided among the students at $100 each. You may choose to pay half ($50.00) by Tuesday, January 30 and the second half by Thursday, February 22. Or you may opt to pay in full $100 on or before February 22, 2018. Any surplus within the eighth grade fund would be directed to a charity to be determined by the eighth grade class. With such a system in place, I would not be collecting money at different times of the year for each individual event.
Regarding fundraisers, Mrs. Egan will continue to publicize opportunities parents have to get involved with these events, including our stromboli sales and winter dance for eighth and seventh graders. Additionally, the school has committed to earmark several Tag Days this year for the eighth grade general fund.
I thank all of you for your continued support. Have a Blessed New Year.
Sincerely,
Richard Leonard
